Niijima City is a municipality located on an island in the north of Hyogo Prefecture. Its capital is the government-designated city of Tokawa, and there are several other municipalities. In addition, Tokawa City is formed from several administrative wards, including Kita-ward, Minato-ward, Chuou-ward and Minamisato-ward. Public transport is also well developed in Niijima, with Niijima Electric Railway having several railway lines and Niijima Transport having bus lines connecting various parts of Niijima Prefecture.
